Our guild has run a fair portion of the BC Dungeons now. But somehow we seemed to have skipped Auchenai Crypts. So, Sonaris, Mysiaa, Isabel, Kaymala and I decided to head in and see what we could find, we can all use the Lower City reputation anyway.

It’s a short dungeon, only 2 bosses: Shirrak the Dead Watcher and Exarch Maladaar. Neither of which is very difficult if you read up and know what you’re getting in to.

However, a lot of the trash mobs are casters making CC important. The problem is that even with good CC you could be getting 3 mobs for every 1 you pull. Some of the mobs spawn 2 non-elite undead ghosts as soon as they enter combat. The spawned ghosts do not give you rep when killed. Also, the Phantasmal Possessors cast mind control on one of the party members that lasts 1 minute or until the target’s life is under 50%. The mind control has a long cast time and can be interrupted but your best bet is to kill them as fast as you can. It cannot be dispelled.

It took us a little over an hour. We picked up the Quest: Everything Will Be Alright on the way in and I know that the reward was an upgrade for Isabel so the run wasn’t a complete waste. But I don’t think we’ll be going back unless one of the other guildies wants the quest reward when they get that far.

Shirrak the Dead Watcher dropped Shaarde the Lesser

Exarch Maladaar dropped Ironstaff of Regeneration

No enchanters this run so both items went toward repair bills.
