Another Brewfest celebration has come and gone and we had a lot of fun joining in the revelry. We killed Coren Direbrew enough times that everyone got almost everything they wanted.

Coren Direbrew is actually a pretty tough fight. I don’t know about the post on Wowwiki that says you can 3 man him. Must be players decked out in all S4 gear. Coren himself is a basic tank and spank fight. He has a whole lot of hit points but hits like a sissy (at least for any decently geared tank). He does have one big attack, the Direbrew Disarm. It does a lot of damage to anyone within range. It about took out Sonaris and Isabel a couple times. It’s all the adds that are the problem. If you don’t take care of them they’ll just overwhelm you. We did pretty well, only wiped a couple times. Mostly due to either Shazuku (tank) or Katrysta (healer) getting “Barreled” by the add Ursula Direbrew. Getting Barreled not only causes damage, it disorients you. Which basically causes you to wander around with a barrel on you head for 8 seconds. It also causes a complete aggro wipe, usually ending up with the mage getting killed…. sorry Zarint.

We got 2 of the Direbrew’s Remote on our first run so that made it very easy to port to BRD over and over changing our group with alts for more runs. Congratulations go out to both Sonaris and Isabel for receiving Direbrew’s Shanker. I know that many people on our server were trying to get it and have not, as yet succeeded. Most of us got all the trinkets we were after (and a few we weren’t). Shazuku got the Swift Brewfest Ram.

I wasted my Brewfest Tokens wisely with Shazuku and got Belbi’s Eyesight Enhancing Romance Goggles. They are pretty funny. Gives you a buff called Beer Goggles that makes everyone look a male gnome (even the NPCs, opposing faction and humanoid mobs). I have to admit that I’ve been running around with them on all week and laughing pretty hard.
