Farming Motes of Life is your the only way you can get Primal Life (combine 10 Mote of Life to get 1 Primal Life). Both Mote of Life and Primal Life are used by many professions in many different patterns.

The only options when it comes to obtaining Motes of Life you can either farm or Herbalism them yourself to avoid buying them in the AH. Or constantly check the Auction House looking for a good deal.
