Blizzard launched a pretty good sized patch this morning with many changes to classes, PvP, UI, gear and world / bug fixes. The in-game voice chat is supposed to be live today also, but I haven’t tried it yet. If that works well maybe Ventrilo is a thing of the past? We’ll have to wait and see.

As far as add ons go there aren’t any compatibility issues that I’ve found yet. Just make sure that you go into the add on page from your character selection screen and check the box at the top called “use old add ons.” If you come across any issues please make sure you share them so we’ll all know to watch for up dates; which we’ll want to do over the next week or so anyway.

The only problem I ran into when I logged in after the download was that my screen resolution was all messed up. If you log in and have the same issue here is how you fix it. Hit the Esc key and open your video options. At the very top left you’ll see what your resolution setting is at. That shouldn’t have changed. Put a check mark in the box just below the resolution setting that’s called “Use UI Scale.” A slider bar (called “UI Scale” if I remember correctly) will appear to the right of that box. Move the slide bar a little then click OK at the bottom to refresh. You’ll have to experiment a little (took me a few tries) until you get your UI back to the way you like it.

Hope this can save you all a little frustration and time.

    If you read the message in yellow when you first log into the game you’ll see that they’ve made a statement saying that the voice chat channel is not live yet. Even though it was in the patch notes it’s not live on the servers.

    I also saw a link on the WoW log in window (before you click the play button) that takes you to their web site with the entire explination of how to use it. It’s worth reading to understand how it will work and what you’ll be able to do with it. Personally, I say that we stick with Vent., but we’ll have to see how well the in game version works; once it finally works … =P

    They changed the way the AH mailing system runs with this patch. Now you have to wait an hour (approx) before you receive your proceeds. But they send you notification that your item has sold and for how much and the estimated time of money delivery. You still receive the item immediately if you purchase something.

    I wondered what was up with the “Sale Pending” thing in the AH. I didn’t catch that change in patch notes. Did they happen to mention why they made the change? I sure can’t see a reason. Just seems like more work to me to send a notification and then the money…

    Auction House generated emails for successful auction sales will now have a one-hour delay and is no longer instantaneous.

    not sure why, but there it is. with some testing you still get your item quickly.

    In game voice chat is now live. I have played with the settings window a little but haven’t been in a group to use it yet. It kind of looks like you’ll have to adjust your voice settings for each character, but I’m not sure yet. Guess we’ll find out shortly if it works as well as Ventrilo does.
