The Riding Crop Posted in ,

Riding Crop Once you get to level 69 and can equip a Riding Crop there is no need to carry around the enchanted gloves and boots with mithril spurs anymore. You can now free up 2 bag slots and change your macros to swap out only one piece of gear; your trinket and riding crop.

The Riding Crop provides a 10% speed boost to ground and air mounts. It does not stack with any other enchant or speed boosting object so once you have it, that’s all you need. (Carrot on a Stick, you’ve served me well!) (Source)

The Riding Crop alone is 1% faster than using all 3 of the other mount speed enhancing items together: Mithril Spurs, Enchant Gloves – Riding Skill, and Carrot on a Stick. The proof is in the numbers. If you are interested in reading all of them there is an incredible post written by Yoda of Borg on the subject of Mount Speed Increases.

Didn’t know that my self. I use the riding aura that paladins have so I never got one. Now I know that, maybe my alts will need to get one.

Sonaris can make this, if you will provide the primal might, I have the rest of the mats.

I didn’t know they didn’t stack. Guess I can finally get rid of my extra riding gear. That’ll clear up a few bag spots. Oh, and Thankx to Sonaris for making mine for me.

My leather working is finally high enough with Kaymala that she can make the riding crop for us too. And for others that might be raising their LW, and will want this pattern, it’s sold for 5g by a merchant that is in Durnholde (Old Hillsbrad.) He roams the area where the final boss fight takes place. I believe that you can just enter the zone and run over there to buy it from him w/o having to clear the instance with a group first. But I haven’t tried…
